Mahale Mountains National Park

Mahale Mountains National Park is one of Tanzania’s most remote and captivating protected areas, renowned for its pristine forests, dramatic mountain scenery, and world-class chimpanzee trekking. Located on the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania, the park covers approximately 1,650 square kilometers (637 square miles).
